Earlier this year, a successful minor works bid enabled the Conservation Department to refurbish an existing laboratory space at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. On the site of the old workhouse laundry block, the laboratory has been restricted in its use due to poor heating and lack of appropriate facilities, although it was home to the West Runton Elephant conservation project for many years.

Now that works have been completed to improve the space, the Conservation Team have begun to use the laboratory as a much needed facility to treat large and outsize objects which are located at Gressenhall and objects from other NMAS sites which cannot be accommodated in the Norwich laboratory.
